"Applied as Business/Economics to all schools which limited competitiveness; should have explored alternative majors like Applied Math, Physics, ChemE, or PoliSci where profile would have stood out more. Letters of recommendation were weak - teachers didn't write anything special. Main essay about poker life lessons was mediocre; should have used space to explain background more. Spent too much time on college admissions forums (a2c, collegeresults, chanceme) since sophomore year instead of building resume. Procrastinated on supplements but final versions were strong."
