"It's okay to slack a little bit and only invest time in things you care about, but don't half-ass anything you do care about. IB score matters less than AP for US applicants due to poor credit conversions and ease of scoring higher on AP. Having a counselor providing guidance is valuable. Essays are underrated and critically important—well-written essays make readers advocate for you, while poorly written ones make them resent you."
